Farrah Fawcett in Playboy Magazine

Farrah first appeared in the December 1978 issue of Playboy Magazine.  She was on the cover and referred to as Farrah Fawcett-Majors, as she was married to actor Lee Majors at the time.  Farrah Fawcett's pictorial and the article were great, but the pictorial did not contain outright nudity (more like very sexy cheesecake). She is also mentioned and pictured in the Sex Stars of 1978 article/pictorial section of the same issue.

She had, in fact, first appeared in Playboy in the December 1977 issue of Playboy for the Sex Stars of 1977 article/pictorial, and continued to be mentioned and make minor photographic appearances and article mentions in Playboy Magazine on a regular basis from then and well into the 1980s.

Later, in the 1990s, Farrah Fawcett did finally pose nude for Playboy - twice!  The first pictorial appeared in the December 1995 issue of Playboy Magazine, and Farrah showed us just how sexy she was at 48 years old.  She was also featured on the cover of the magazine.

In 1997, she appeared for the third (and final time) in a pictorial for the July 1997 issue of Playboy Magazine at 50 years of age.  Once again,  Farrah Fawcett was on the cover.  This issue was unique because Playboy decided to publish two cover variants of this particular issue - that is the same issue, but there were two different cover photos.  They were both available at newsstands, and generally in a ratio of one-to-three.


Since she first appeared, Playboy has also added photos of Farrah Fawcett to numerous Playboy Special Editions; including such titles as Playboy's Covergirls, Playboy's Leading Ladies, Playboy's 100 Beautiful Women, Playboy's Women of TV and Playboy's 50 Beautiful Women.

Sadly, Farrah Fawcett passed away on June 25, 2009 after a courageous battle with cancer.  She will be fondly remembered not only for her Playboy and television appearances, but for her charming personality and the people she touched throughout her life.
